Queen Latifah will continue as a celebrity spokesperson for Jenny Craig for 2009. The Grammy award winner and Oscar-nominated actress will continue to serve as an ambassador for the brand, playing an active role with the online community and other marketing-related programs. In 2008, Queen Latifah helped convey Jenny Craig's core message of weight-loss and the impact it has on one's health. Having lost her great-grandmother to type II diabetes, she understands the impact of illnesses related to weight. By successfully losing 20 pounds and dropping 20 cholesterol points through the Jenny Craig program, she demonstrated that making small lifestyle changes, along with diet and exercise, can reduce the risk of obesity-related illnesses, like diabetes, high cholesterol and heart disease. |

Playwright-producer Tyler Perry's latest sitcom, Meet the Browns, premieres on TBS on Wednesday, January 7.
The show is based on Tyler's movie of the same name. According to TBS.com, "Leroy Brown (David Mann) transforms his inheritance – a dilapidated house – into Brown Meadows. It’s not the sprawling, green facility of geriatric dreams, but small, quaint and filled with quirky residents and employees struggling to keep their lives in order. Combine that with a lively fraternity house bustling with collegiate activity next door, and Brown gets way more than he bargained for." Meet the Browns airs on Wednesdays at 10 p.m. |
