Culturally conscious singer-songwriter Asa (pronounced Ah-shah) releases her self-titled debut on Downtown Records' new imprint Mercer St. Records on January 27, 2009.

The label, Mercer Street, was created as a vibrant outlet for eclectic adult-oriented and world music artists.

The debut paints a vivid landscape rich in history and deep in its influences.

Born in Paris but transplanted to Nigeria where she would spend the remainder of her childhood and adolescence, Asa returned to her birthplace in 2004 and immersed herself in the music of the city. The result is a collection of provocative and savvy songs that are as strikingly personal as they are collectively universal.

Grammy award winning rap superstar Ludacris, in conjunction with Monster, the industry leader whose cables and power products have been used in countless recordings by legendary artists, announced a special Monster “Theater of the Mind” Video contest that gives fans the opportunity to submit their creative videos to accompany music from Ludacris’ new album “Theater of the Mind.” The eagerly awaited sixth album from the hip-hop music mogul was released in November 2008 by Ludacris’ Disturbing Tha Peace label.

Qualified entries will be screened by Ludacris himself, who may choose to include videos that he particularly likes in upcoming projects related to his album.
